Making text larger in Internet Explorer for Windows
  1. Open the 'View' menu with the mouse or by pressing 'Alt'+'V' .
  2. Select the 'Text Size' option with the mouse or by pressing 'X' .
  3. Choose your preferred text size with the mouse or by using the up and down arrow keys and pressing 'Enter' or by clicking on it.
Making text larger in Firefox for Windows
  1. Open the 'View' menu with the mouse or by press 'Alt' and 'V' at the same time.
  2. Select the 'Text Size' option with the mouse or by pressing 'S' twice.
  3. Increase or decrease the text size with the mouse or by using the up and down arrow keys and pressing 'Enter'.
  4. Alternatively you can press 'Ctrl' and '+' to increase the text size, 'Ctrl' and '-' to decrease the text size. 'Ctrl' and '0' returns you to the default size.
Making text larger in Firefox for Mac OS X
Follow these steps to increase or decrease the size of the text for the web page you are viewing:
  1. Click on the 'View' menu with the mouse
  2. Hover your mouse over 'Text Size' and choose a different text size.
Or to use keyboard shortcuts:
  1. 1. Press 'Apple' and '+' (plus) to increase the text size and 'Apple' and '-' (minus ) to decrease the text size.
Take the following steps to set a larger text size for all the pages you visit:
  1. Click the 'Firefox' menu with the mouse or press 'Ctrl' + 'F2' to highlight the menu bar and then press the right arrow to highlight the 'Firefox' menu .
  2. Click on 'Preferences' or press the down arrow to highlight 'Preferences' and then press 'Enter'.
  3. Make sure the 'General' tab is selected if not click on it (no keyboard shortcut ).
  4. Click on 'Fonts and colours' (no keyboard shortcut ).
  5. Click on the box next to 'Size(pixels) ' and change the font size (no keyboard shortcut ).
  6. Click 'OK' button or press 'Enter' twice to return to Firefox.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
Making text larger in Safari for Mac OS X
Follow these steps to increase or decrease the size of the text for the web page you are viewing:
  1. Click on the 'View' menu with the mouse.
  2. Click on 'Make Text Bigger' or Make Text Smaller to change the font size
Or to to use keyboard shortcuts: Increase or decrease the text size with 'Apple' and '+' (plus) and 'Apple' and '-' (minus). Take the following steps to set a larger text size for all the pages you visit:
  1. Click on the 'Safari' menu with the mouse and then then click on 'Preferences' or press 'Apple' + ',' (Comma).
  2. Click on the 'Appearance' icon or press 'Ctrl' + 'F5' to highlight the 'General' icon and then press the right arrow key to highlight 'Appearance' then press the 'Spacebar'.
  3. Click on 'Select' next to 'Standard font:' box or press 'Tab' once to highlight the 'Select' button and then press the 'Spacebar'.
  4. This will bring up the 'Fonts' window click on font size you want under the 'Sizes' heading or press 'Ctrl' + 'F6' then 'Ctrl' + 'F7' then 'Tab' twice to enter the 'Sizes' box were you can type in the font size you want and then press 'Enter'. Click on the 'Fonts' box close button or press 'Esc'.
  5. Click on the 'Appearance' window close button or press 'Esc' to return to Safari.
  6. On pages that support it the text size should now have changed.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
Changing the colours in Internet Explorer for Windows
  1. Open the 'Tools' menu with the mouse or by pressing 'Alt' + 'T' .
  2. Select the 'Internet Options' option with the mouse or by pressing 'O'.
  3. Select the 'Accessibility' button with the mouse or by pressing 'Alt' + 'E'
  4. Check the 'Ignore colours specified on web page' checkbox with the mouse or by pressing 'Alt' + 'C'
  5. Click the 'OK' button with the mouse once or by pressing 'Enter' once which will return you to the 'Internet Options' box.
If you’d like to change the text or background colours on the web page take the following steps:
  1. With the 'Internet Options' box still open click on the 'Colors' button or press 'Alt' + 'O'.
  2. The default setting is to have the 'Use Windows colors' option selected, to use your own colours click the box to remove the tick with the mouse or press 'Alt' + 'W'.
  3. Select either the 'Text' button with the mouse (the 'Use Windows colors' option must not be selected for this to work), or by pressing 'Alt' + 'T' , or the 'Background' button with the mouse, or by pressing 'Alt' + 'B' .
  4. Select the colour of your choice with the mouse or by using the arrow keys.
  5. Select the 'OK' button twice with the mouse or by pressing 'Enter' twice.
  6. Now press 'OK' or press 'Enter' to return to Internet Explorer.

Changing the colours in Firefox for Windows
  1. Click the 'Tools' menu or press 'Alt' + 'T'.
  2. Click 'Options' or press 'O' to display the 'Options' dialog box
  3. Click the 'Fonts and Colors' button or press 'F' to display the 'Fonts and Colors' dialog box
  4. To use your Windows colour scheme settings in Firefox click on the 'Use system colors' checkbox, or 'Tab' to the checkbox and press the 'Spacebar' to select it.
Alternatively to set text and background colours just for Firefox:
  1. Make sure the 'Use system colors' checkbox is unchecked by clicking on it or 'Tab' to the checkbox and press the 'Spacebar' to deselect it.
  2. For your text colour, click the colour swatch next to the 'Text': heading and click on the colour you want to use, or press 'Alt' + 'T' to jump to the text colour palette and use the cursor keys to browse the list of colours and then press 'Enter' to chose the highlighted colour.
  3. For your background colour, click the colour swatch next to the 'Background:' heading and click on the colour you want to use, or press 'Alt' + 'B' to jump to the background colour palette and use the cursor keys to browse the list of colours and then press 'Enter' to choose the highlighted colour.
  4. Next click on 'Always use my: Colors' checkbox, or press 'Tab' until the checkbox is highlighted and then press the 'Spacebar' .
  5. Click 'OK' or press 'Enter' to return to the options dialog box.
  6. Click the 'OK' button, or press 'Tab' until the 'OK' button is selected and press 'Enter' , to return to Firefox.
  7. Click on the 'Reload current page' button on the Navigation toolbar or press 'Ctrl' + 'R' to reload the page with your colour settings.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
Changing the colours in Firefox for Mac OS X
  1. Click the 'Firefox' menu with the mouse or press 'Ctrl' + 'F2' to highlight the menu bar and then press the right arrow to highlight the 'Firefox' menu .
  2. Click on 'Preferences' or press the down arrow to highlight 'Preferences' and then press 'Enter'.
  3. Make sure the 'General' tab is selected, if not click on it ( no keyboard shortcut ).
  4. Click on 'Fonts and colours' ( no keyboard shortcut ).
  5. Choose to have your Mac OS colour scheme settings by clicking on the 'Use system colors' checkbox to select it (no keyboard shortcut).
  6. Next click on 'Always use my: Colors' checkbox (no keyboard shortcut).
  7. Click the 'OK' button or press 'Enter' twice to return to Firefox.
On a Mac you have limited options to change you OS colour scheme so you are more likely to need to set text and background colours just for Firefox. To do this:
  1. Follow steps 1-4 above.
  2. Make sure the 'Use system colors' checkbox is unchecked by clicking on it (no keyboard shortcut).
  3. For your text colour, click the box next to the 'Text': heading or press 'Tab' to jump to it and press the 'Spacebar' to bring up the colour swatch.
  4. Click on the text colour you want, or use the cursor keys to browse the list of colours, when the colour you want is highlighted press 'Enter'.
  5. Next click on 'Always use my: Colors' checkbox to select it (no keyboard shortcut).
  6. If you do not need to change the 'Background' colour or 'Link colors' , to return to Firefox click the 'OK' button twice or press 'Enter' twice and ignore the rest of these steps but make sure you click on the 'Reload current page' button on the Navigation toolbar or press 'Apple' + 'R' .
  7. For your background colour click the box next to the 'Background:' heading or press 'Tab' to jump to it and press the 'Spacebar' to bring up the colour swatch.
  8. Click on the background colour you want, or use the cursor keys to browse the list of colours, when the colour you want is highlighted press 'Enter'.
  9. Next, If it is not already selected click on 'Always use my: Colors' checkbox to select it (no keyboard shortcut).
  10. For the 'Link Colors' follow the steps above but choose the 'Unvisited Links' and 'Visited Links' boxes.
  11. To return to Firefox click the 'OK' button twice or press 'Enter' twice.
  12. Finally click on the 'Reload current page' button on the Navigation toolbar or press 'Apple' + 'R' to reload the page with your colour settings.
